How To Make A Latte With Nespresso ~ Best Machine Ever!

My hand at being a Barista.
Almond Chocolate Latte

Ugh, I don’t like it!

My favorite drink is a latte with hazelnut or almond flavoring. My next favorite is a white chocolate mocha with almond flavoring. I’m really particular about how my coffee drinks are made and I haven’t really been impressed with the drinks from the outside coffee shops. It seems that my drinks always turn out too sweet, even when I ask for 1/2 the syrup. Sometimes I’ll ask for the syrup on the side but it doesn’t mesh well when I have to add it to the coffee after the fact.

Plus, it’s so expensive to buy coffee drinks these days. The prices keep going up! Believe me, I’ve spent a fair share of dollars on taking 2 sips and throwing the whole drink away. I hate to be wasteful but the cloying sweetness is way too much.

Making my own lattes ~ big, fat fail!

So, I attempted to make my own lattes. I tried a coffee press using french roast and adding my own syrup and milk. Hmmm, not that great. It was lacking something – maybe the rich full bodied richness of an espresso? Then, I decided to buy some finely ground espresso beans and pressed it in the French press. Ok, that was a joke. It just produced a big mess and I had a mouthful of coffee grounds. Big, fat fail!

Ok, I was at my wit’s end. I needed a machine that had enough heat and pressure to extract the perfect cup of espresso to use for my perfect latte. I researched online and googled “Best latte maker for the home” and looked at a few Amazon reviews.

As I was researching, I was a little overwhelmed. There were many good choices, ranging in size and cup capacity.  In order to narrow down all the choices,  I made a list of all the features I wanted in the new machine. So, the machine  had to have these features ~

  • Creates a thick crema
  • Easy to use
  • Uses espresso pods
  • Small compact size
  • Fast
  • Under $150

Nespresso to the rescue!

I found the perfect machine. It’s the Nespresso Inissia Espresso Maker.

How to make a latte with NespressoThis machine met all my criterias ~

INCLUDED! The Aeroccino Milk Frother (you can buy this separately if you already have an espresso maker.)

What a plus! I didn’t have to purchase it separately and lattes really depend on good frothy milk.

Here are some of my own pictures of the machine ~

I also purchased the Nespresso Original Line Pods for the Inissia. How to make a latte with NespressoIt’s a variety pack of espresso pods and allowed me to sample some different espresso flavors and its intensity. Because I had a chance to sample, I chose the Livanto flavor ~

  • Malty, robust and caramelly notes
  • Round and balanced
  • Intensity ~ 6

Extract espresso on Lungo setting. While that’s going, pour 2/3 cup milk in Aerocinno Milk Frother and let froth.

Tip – place frother on top of a plate. It tends to overflow.

Combine espresso, Almond Orgeat Syrup, Chocolate Syrup and top with frothy milk. Enjoy!

Lattes my way

I love this espresso maker. It really lives up to its features. I have made a number of lattes so far and it suits my tastes. No more throwing away drinks, no more overly sweetened drinks. I have control over which espresso flavor and the amount of syrups to use.

If you have ever wasted money on a bad coffee drink, get the Nespresso Inissia Espresso Maker. It lives up to its name.
